These lines from Robert Frost's famous poem, "The Road Not Taken", have always been an inspiration to me. Some have interrupted Frost's poem to have a sort of melancholy tone of regret, but I've always thought of it in a positive way. I've always thought that the speaker is rather expressing a sense of satisfaction at where they are in life while recognizing that he/she would not be where he/she is now if he/she had taken that other road.
The poem also reminds me of the parable of the narrow and wide gates. Not being very religious, I've never really interpreted the parable in a religious way, but rather in the sense that life is difficult and often the difficult choices we make in life can lead to beautiful places at the end.
These two ideas have helped me through the difficult choices and regrets in my own life, and ultimately became an inspiration for my blog.
The path I have chosen to take through life isn't always clear and wide, but it is one that has led to some amazing places, and that's what I have decided to write about here - The Road Less Taken.
This "lifestyle" blog will focus on stories from my day to day life in a sort of diary fashion, and I have decided to begin this with reminiscing on my study abroad in England at Harlaxton College.
